Summer Barbecues
'for a perfect summer's day'
The English weather is most definitely unpredictable but one thing you can predict
and rely upon is that Merrow Savouries are great with the barbecue!
A perfect way to informally feed a large crowd
for a casual pre or post wedding celebration, a birthday or anniversary party,
a no-reason family get together,
or as a treat for a hard working office team at the end of a busy week.
We don’t go in for all that posh and fancy fayre with our barbecues - but offer good traditional butcher’s sausages, homemade burgers, our own chicken satays or lamb koftas or colourful vegetable and prawn or meat kebabs.
Salads are a big part of a great barbie and Sue loves to invent a salad (sad but true!)
But, the most popular ones chosen are usually a fully loaded vegetable couscous,
a colourful bountiful coleslaw with lots of fresh fruit and roasted nuts, a traditional everyone’s favourite Greek Salad, perhaps a French celeriac remoulade or the unusual but delish bulgur, feta and grated courgette salad; then always a fresh green leaf salad with herbs from our garden topped with toasted seeds and pomegranate.
We always include lots of tasty accompaniments
and plentiful rustic artisan breads.
Desserts are always important at a BBQ – and we have lots of ideas
from banoffee pie to tangy lemon tart, cheesecakes to roulades, fresh fruit salads,
home made ice creams, éclairs and probably the most popular of all for such an occasion –
simply a big pile of triple chocolate brownies with lots of fresh strawberries for guests
to pick off during the afternoon.
We can even arrange to hire the barbecues themselves, the tables we need to work from and
the gazebos vital to protect the food and our team from the wind and rain in the summer!
As well as arranging for the hire of all the necessary crockery, cutlery and glasses needed.
You will also need an experienced front of house team to host a large, safe barbecue – prices upon request depending on the venue, number of guests, facilities available etc.
